Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering aka GATE is purely India test. The test is held out combined by the Indian Institute of Science & 7 Indian Institutes of Technology for getting admission to Masters in Technology M.Tech post graduate degree program. GATE is controlled by these top technology institutes coming below the Dept of Higher Education & National Coordination Board.

GATE operates through the establishment of 8 zones. The zones and the equivalent administrative institutes are:

Zone-1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
Zone-2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
Zone-3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Zone-4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Zone-5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur

The structure of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

The GATE test time is three hours. There are sixty five questions with a maximum of cent per cent marks. The objective type questions are comprised in the GATE test. In the AE & TF papers, there are sixty multiple type questions. 4 options will be there. The Numerical questions have a number as the answer.

Indian Institute of Management of Lucknow opens admission to 2-year Post Graduate Programme in the area of Agribusiness Management to which the filled in applications are called for admission to two-year PG Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management PGP–ABM for the year 2012 – 2014

A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science / Engineering or any other allied subjects like Agriculture: Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Soil Science, Agriculture Biochemistry, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Entomology, Plant Pathology etc.; Animal Husbandry; Forestry; Agricultural Engineering; Food Technology; Dairy Science/ Technology; Horticulture; Rural Studies/Rural Sociology/ Rural Cooperatives/ Rural Banking; Science: Biology, Biochemistry, Life Science, Bio-technology, Botany, Zoology and Veterinary Science – with 50% marks (45% in case of SC / ST / PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any of the recognized Universities.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% in case of ST/SC/PWD category) or equivalent CGPA with 2 years experience or strong interest in the area of Agriculture or allied sector.

The admission to PGP-ABM will be made depending on Common Admission Test CAT 2011.
