Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering aka GATE is purely India test. The test is held out combined by the Indian Institute of Science & 7 Indian Institutes of Technology for getting admission to Masters in Technology M.Tech post graduate degree program. GATE is controlled by these top technology institutes coming below the Dept of Higher Education & National Coordination Board.
GATE operates through the establishment of 8 zones. The zones and the equivalent administrative institutes are:
Zone-1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
Zone-2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
Zone-3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Zone-4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Zone-5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Zone-6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Zone-7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras

The structure of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
The GATE test time is three hours. There are sixty five questions with a maximum of cent per cent marks. The objective type questions are comprised in the GATE test. In the AE & TF papers, there are sixty multiple type questions. 4 options will be there. The Numerical questions have a number as the answer.
